II. Safety Reminder for Miner Wiring and Shelf Operation
1. Precautions for MicroBT Whatsminer M21S miner wiring: The miner’s power data cable, adapter board data cable, and fan data cablemust be connected correctly. If the connection is off, the fan, adapter board, hash board, control board, etc., will be burned out. You must take it to the closest repair facility for repairs! Additionally, when attaching the control board’s data cable, the buckles must match up and the plug cannot be forcibly forced into the socket backwards. If inserted backward or wrongly, it may burn the control boardand the signal data cable when power is on!
2. Precautions for the connection of the PSU data cable: The PSU data cable is a 14pin cable, and the card slot should be inserted in the correct position:
Correct connection of data cable plug and socket:
The wrong connection method of the data cable plug and socket:
3. Precautions for connecting the data cable of the adapter board: The data cable of the adapter board is a 22pin cable, and the card slot should be inserted in the correct position:
Correct connection of data cable plug and socket:
4. Precautions for the connection of the fan data cable: the fan cable is a 6pin cable, and the card slot should be inserted in the correct position:
Correct connection of data cable plug and socket:
5. The socket on the adapter board and the pin on the hash board must be connected correctly in order to prevent other issues brought on by contact issues. The correct connection between the adapter board socket and the hash board pin:
6. The positive and negative poles of the power data cable must not be connected incorrectly to the Hash board, and the screw gaskets used to secure the data cable must be positioned parallel to its edge. The fixed screws need to be tightened to prevent the miner from being unable to function normally as a result of the data cable’s poor contact, or else the miner could be short-circuited and burned when the power is turned on. The correct connection method of the power data cable:
7. After all the MicroBT Whatsminer M21S miner’s data cables have been connected and all the screws have been tightened, check the connection of each data cable once more to make sure it is secure.
Notice:
1) Please verify that the 220V and 16A power cables are securely connected if all of the miner’s control board lights are off after turning the machine on.
2) Check the network port light, the network cable connection, and the network cable quality if the indicator on the right side of the miner’s control board is on but the network port light is not on or the green light is not flashing.
3) The WhatsMiner Tools computer and the miner need to be on the same network segment. Otherwise, the software might not be able to receive the broadcast message sent by the miner, making it impossible to query the IP address and MAC address information provided by the miner’s IP Found button.
4) If the computer and the miner are on the same network segment and the network’s DHCP service is enabled, pressing the miner’s IP Found button will not cause the WhatsMiner Tools software to query the miner’s IP address. Instead, you must press and hold the miner’s Reset button on the control board for more than five seconds to restore the factory default settings, then turn the miner off, turn it back on, and press the IP Found button to find the miner’s IP address after
5) If the WhatsMiner Tools software is running on the computer, click “Start” and do not manually press the The software instantly determines the miner’s IP address and MAC address when you click the IP Found button. The control panel might be blocking the miner’s IP Found button at the moment. Find the miner that corresponds to the MAC address shown in the software (the miner’s control board has a barcode with the MAC address on it), turn off the Whatsminer, and then reinstall the control board, making sure that the buttons and indicator lights are working properly and can be seen through the installation holes.
III. Miner Running Status
Log into the MicroBT Whatsminer M21S and check its running status after making sure it is connected to the active network.
1. To access the CG Miner running status interface, choose Status->CG Miner Status in the miner interface.
2. Verify the miner’s overall hash rate, front and rear fan speeds, connection to a mining pool, the hash rate and temperature of a single hash board, among other things.
Notice:
1) Following power-up, the MicroBT Whatsminer M21S will automatically run a frequency search test to ensure that it is properly connected to the regular network. About 15 minutes pass during the frequency search test phase. The formal mining phase will start after the frequency search is finished. Currently, the hash rate shown backstage is the one that is in use. The hash rate observed if the search is still ongoing will be lower than the operating hash rate.
2) The miners will operate at a reduced frequency and the hash rate will be lower than the standard hash rate if the hash board’s air outlet temperature is above 85°C and the fan speed is above 6100 rpm. To ensure that the ambient temperature of miners is below 40°C, it is necessary to implement ventilation and cooling measures in the mining environment.
3) The miner’s temperature will increase, the hash board frequency will decrease, and the hash rate will decrease if the fan data cable is not securely connected to the control board. If this happens, the fan speed displayed in the miner interface will be 0.
4) The miner needs to be turned off, the miner’s power cable and data cable of the corresponding hash board (one end of the control board and one end of the hash board) must be replugged and unplugged to make sure the connection is secure if part of the hash board and temperature are not detected in the status interface.
